SANITARY SEWER OVERFLOW REPORT TO EPD
DATE OF OVERFLOW: Thursday, September 15, 2022
REPORT SUBMITTED: September 15, 2022, at 5:14PM, EPD Incident #101339
LOCATION OF OVERFLOW: East Street between E Church Street (SR 53) and Depot Street, in downtown Jasper
CAUSE OF OVERFLOW: Grease blockage in the sanitary sewer main along East Street where it ties into the sanitary sewer main along E Church Street (SR 53).
ESTIMATED VOLUME DISCHARGED: 300 gallons
RECEIVING WATERS: N/A
WRF NPDES PERMIT: GA0032204
CORRECTIVE ACTION TAKEN TO MITIGATE OR TO REDUCE ADVERSE EFFECTS: The mains have been completely jetted and then viewed by camera to ensure that there are no additional issues within the system, and the area has been cleaned. No sewage reached waters of the State.
OVERFLOW STATUS: City crews relieved the blockage in the main on 9-15-22 and sewage is flowing freely through the collection system now. Any questions may be addressed to David Hall, Utility Director for the City of Jasper 706-692-9102.

CORRECTIVE ACTION TAKEN TO PREVENT FUTURE OVERFLOW: This line will be added to a preventative maintenance schedule to ensure no additional problems occur.
